Gift Idea: Bride-To-Be Basket

I’ve been hiding a big secret! My baby brother and his beautiful girlfriend are ENGAGED! I’m so excited for them, and to have her as my future sister-in-law. I couldn’t wait to help her start feeling like a bride, so at their engagement party, I gifted her a “Bride-to-Be” basket: a few fun little things for her to enjoy and to help her get excited about planning their big day.

Since Target had all of their Easter stuff out, I picked up a Easter basket in her favorite color to hold everything. Since the basket wasn’t part of the gift, I didn’t feel bad only spending $2.50 on it. While there I checked out the $1 Spot (seriously, my favorite part of the store) and I picked up some thank you note cards in her favorite color (blue) and a magnetic to-do pad in creme and gold. Every bride knows that the number of lists you have to make is ENDLESS.

I also picked up a pretty nail polish and a soft toothbrush and bottle of blue Dawn. Weird, I know, but that’s all you need to clean your rings at home. It’s a trick my mom taught me (the morning of my bridal shower when I freaked out because I hadn’t had a chance to get to the jeweler to clean my rock).

I added Newlyweds Book of Firsts and a copy of Bridal Guide (my subscription still hasn’t expired).

The biggest parts of her basket were a fun bottle of “Hi!” bubbly

A copy of Style Me Pretty Weddings

And, my absolute favorite, a ring holder by Umbra. I have the puppy dog version in my kitchen and I seriously use it at least once a day (washing dishes, breading chicken, making meatballs, etc.). I totally recommend these as a fantastic shower/bride-to-be gift!

Congrats to my baby brother and sister-in-law-to-be! My parents are leaving town tomorrow, so with any luck I’ll be able to get back in the kitchen for a few days before M and I head out of town to celebrate our birthdays and our 6-month anniversary.
