Home Sweet Home

You may have noticed that I’ve been MIA for a few days…but, I promise I have a good excuse. Last Wednesday, M and I boarded a plane to Atlanta, Georgia. It wasn’t a secret or surprise trip, but it wasn’t something I could mention on my blog yet. So, I just disappeared. I know I could have scheduled some posts ahead of time, but frankly, I didn’t do a whole lot of cooking right before we left. I was too busy with work and life…

And buying a house.

Yup. That was the big secret I had been keeping.

The thought of going from a 900 square foot apartment in outside of Washington, DC to a 3000 square foot house is overwhelming and exciting at the same time. So much furniture to buy! So much house to clean! So much room! My very own washer and dryer for the first time in my entire life! A garage to park in! A yard for the dog! A garden! A DECK AND A SCREENED IN PATIO! Oh, and a whirlpool tub. <– Might be my favorite part of the house. And the kitchen isn’t too shabby either. Well, except those curtains. Totally not my style.

So, I am sorry for my disappearing act. I promise to get things back to normal around here soon. Although the new normal will probably talk a little bit more about the cosmetic updates and furniture choices we make in the house…
