I’ve been a subscriber to Birchbox for more than three years. I look forward to getting the box every month, trying the samples, and even finding some new favorite products. But, I’ve been craving something different. My sample supply is overflowing at this point — and most of the full-size products I’ve purchased after sampling, I’m really happy with. I don’t need ANOTHER mascara, or ANOTHER night cream (I do really appreciate the shampoos and body lotions when M and I travel though!). After seeing a few different reviews on the PopSugar Must Have box and finding a coupon code to make my first box really reasonable, I decided to give it a try. I expected the box last week but it didn’t arrive until this week. I immediately tore into it. You guys, I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited about the contents of a subscription box. I will use every. single. thing. And, unlike Birchbox, everything is a full size product. The items also fall into several different categories. In this box Food, Home, Beauty and Fashion were all represented. Here’s what I received:
NatureBox PopSugar Must Have Mix ($5)
I’ll be breaking this out as a snack today and I’m sure it will taste awesome. I immediately had to hide it from M because this was the product he most had his eye on.
Too Faced Natural Eyes ($36)
This palette is totally my style — I will wear every color in it. And, I love that the included guide book instructs on how to do several different looks with the palette. I can pretend I know how to do makeup now!
Caldrea Rosewater Driftwood Hand Soap ($10.50)
This is something I would never spend my own money on, but I love fragrant soaps. It’s a nice little indulgence for me and I love the smell.
Fresh Pastry Tea Towel Set ($18)
The graphic designer in me is so in love with these tea towels. I love the whimsy of them and the simple, graphic design.
Graphic Image Pocket Notes ($20)
This is another product that my design side loves. I can’t wait to use this in meetings with clients! The leather cover and silver gilded edges will definitely stand out, and I love the ribbon bookmark that is built in to hold your spot.
BlueAvocado (Eco) Shopper $25
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this. The pouch unzips to reveal a super cute shopper bag. According to the included card, Lauren Conrad (of OC fam) played a hand in the design of this. This is the perfect bag to throw in my purse when I go shopping in the neighborhood or off to the farmers market.
I originally subscribed to the monthly plan ($39.95/month) figuring I can cancel if I didn’t like my first box. I’m going to stick to the monthly for May and if the products are as awesome as they were this time, I’ll be doing a longer term subscription. If you would like to try it (May would be your first box) use this link and enter code REFER5 for $5 off. I could also see Mom’s really loving the PopSugar box, if you are looking for a gift for Mom!
